Our Travel Log
Friday, 1 August 2008
We started our journey fairly early in the morning around 9 a.m. After a few minutes around West London, the car skidded straight to M1 motorway. The weather was fine along the way, just a few drizzle as the sky was set to be clear the whole day. It was breathtaking to see the country side to the North of England. As usual, the overwhelming view of wheat fields (we guessed) and healthy cattle made us so impressed especially Nenek (been here before but for almost 20 years back… ages) .
We passed through Cambridge, Nottingham, York, Durham, Middlesbrough and our first pit stopped was Sunderland. Arrived at 5.30 p.m. and it was so quiet in the city centre. Everything was off at 5 p.m., shops, post office, restaurant, almost everything. The city seems gloomy and no business around except for petrol stations. Baba drove around the city of Sunderland and tried to find a place to park. Finally we found a good spot to walk around, a huge park with a small pond facing the Winter Garden (it was closed at that time). Wafiq was the most happiest boy in the world..park?? ‘Everything was his’ ..As usual Mama was supposed to guard Wafiq but eventually he was guarding his Mama all the time…

Backdated entry: Oxford
|
|
Mama just got the time to upload these pics after so long . We went to Oxford with K.Kathy's family. It was half a day trip so we just managed to go to the museum (free admission) and strolled around Uni of Oxford. It was raining (in winter), so we spent most of our time in the museum. Wafiq was amazed with the fake animal, however a bit scared to touch it! .

Visit to ZSL London Zoo
|
|
Assalamualaikum family and friends,
We headed into Regent's Park yesterday to check out the London Zoo. It was great, although we missed out on seeing tigers. Wafiq was so excited and even tried to imitate animal sounds. Although London Zoo is far from the biggest zoo, what it lacks in size, it makes up for in variety. The zoo contains over 650 different species of animal (as according to the phamplet that we received at the entrance), and includes an aquarium ( We shall say KLCC's aquaria is far more interesting) and a bug house as part of its attractions ( Wafiq was scared as bug flies on his head ).
To conclude, we had a nice day down at the zoo. A really fascinating way to spend a day!!!!
n.b. Here are a few pictures! A picture is worth a thousand words - or so the saying goes.
